About Mild Steel Plates
The mild steel comes from the carbon steel which has a low carbon alloy. The mild steel is a combination of a low amount of chromium, and molybdenum with low carbon as well. Because of the low carbon alloy, it is more weldable, ductile rather than the carbon steel. These plates exhibit greater tensile and yield strength and also greater corrosion and heat resistance. These plates are also having good formability and thus as better for cutting. These plates are made of the alloy material providing ease to machining and fabrication.
Mild steel is fabricated similar to that of other carbon steels. Common technique this is done is involving coal and iron ore combination. Once the iron ore and coal is extracted, they are melted at the blast furnace are together. Mild steel contains approximately 0.05–0.30% carbon making it malleable and ductile. Mild steel has a relatively low tensile strength, but it is cheap and easy to form; surface hardness can be increased through carburizing.
